Wallets can be involved in a number of ways in *transactions*. This metric most closely aligns with users actively performing actions. So this is the one used for such engagement metrics as *Daily Active Wallets*.

Total number of *transaction groups* on the blockchain for *date* identified by operation hash.
When a user calls a smart contract entrypoint, the code in the smart contract is able to call other smart contract endpoints as part of the initial call.
Each call to an entrypoint is another transaction. In that case the operation contains multiple transactions included in the same operation in the block.

Total number of *transactions* for time interval. Transactions are transfers of tokens and smart contract walls, which are a subset of all *operations* on the Tezos blockchain.
